DJ Juan Vidal - Tuesdays 9-11pm

DJ Juan Vidal - Sounds of the City Entertainment, New Jersey
Being a DJ for over 20 years is not something most people can claim as a job description. The lifespan for most DJ’s average from 5 to 9 years, since most Dj’s either fail to adapt with the constant musical changes the public goes through, or lose their passion as they get older. However, Vidal “DJ Juan Vidal” Rodriguez is not your typical DJ. For the past 20 years, Juan Vidal has gravitated from basement and house parties in the late ‘80’s to nightclubs; birthdays and weddings in the ‘90’s to weddings, corporate events, and other high profile gigs today.
One of the compliments most received by Vidal from his peers is that he is one of the most versatile DJ’s around. “ Throughout the years, I have DJ’ed all kinds of parties for all kinds of people. I have done underground hip-hop events, latin parties, classy corporate events where the music consisted of jazz and soul, and parties where the only thing the client wanted was classic rock! I enjoyed each event equally because I love all music the same, and it shows! A DJ can only do a great job if he/she enjoys what they are doing, and of course, that comes with appreciating all kinds of music!
A high school business and computer teacher by day, his students are often surprised when they find out what their teacher does on weekends. “They think it’s so cool, however I tell them that I do it because I love music and the feeling you get when you control a crowd by mixing songs together. You don’t become a DJ to look cool, because if that is your reason, then you won’t appreciate your craft and it will show when you fail to motivate people at a party!”
For the future, Juan Vidal shows no signs of slowing down. “As a matter of fact, I’m going to start making mixed CD’s again. I stopped during the ‘90’s because of other obligations, however people are still asking me today for all kinds of mixes. As long as I try to keep people happy, then I will find the time.” In the meantime, look for Juan Vidal to stay busy like he always does doing all types of mobile DJ events.
