DJALEXKASANOVA is known for taking risks. Born in jersey city New Jersey in 1976, but raised in hoboken. Well I started dj'ing since I was a young kid, well I was born into music. My dad (MC/DJ ORLANDO) use to play with a lot of bands and artist of today. My older and only brother (DJ CHINO) was also into music. He received his first 1200's when he was around 14yrs. old and he still has them in mint condition.

I remember going nyc with my dad and brother and buying all kinds of vinyl, from latin to rap. Disco Mat was our number one store back then. Since I really couldn't touch my brothers turnrables I told my dad to buy me a boom box, the same one in the movie beat street. I took that radio and hooked it up to my dads double tape deck and I use to make mix tapes for friends and family. But I really wasn't into it as much until I seen my dads passion. I use to go and help with setting up the equipment and watching my brother spin. When I saw the crowd and felt the energy, that's when I said..."this is for me".

I started making mix tapes/cds no one was making. Before all these "radio djs" came out, I was putting salsa beats with hip-hop together or just any latin with english. I can't say watching a movie made me become a dj, but I can say it was the music itself. I started doing a lot of gigs with my dad form festivals, private, corporate, political and community parties.

I've dj'd with a lot of bands/artist like; EL GRAN COMBO, TITO ROJAS, BRENDA K. STAR, TONY VEGA, the late FRANKIE RUIZ, JOHNNY PACHECO and the list goes on. But one little bar in union city, new jersey names TOPPS gave me my first solo dj gig. While I didn't have a following crowd then, nor did I know anyone at the lounge, they knew who I was by the end of the night. From that day on gigs was coming in on a weekly basis for me. I became a resident in two lounges in the same week. From there it went to the clubs in n.y./n.j. area.

I am a dj but im also a fan/critic. I will never say no to an upcoming or veteran dj who needs a hand. I've dj'd with a lot of well known & unknown djs/bands and became very good friends with a lot of them. I will never say im the best, but I know im good at what I do.
